It’s been a while since I blogged! That’s because shortly after the last blog post, I started a new job at Cal State East Bay as a licensed clinician. I’m now Lead Counselor (sort of a blend of Training Director, Clinical Director and Asst. Director, if you’re familiar with agency lingo), and reduced my private practice from 3 days a week to 1 day a week (Wednesdays).
At first, it was really hard to condense all my appointments into one day, but my clients were lovely and flexible, and it’s worked well overall. I currently have a few openings for clients during the day on Wednesday. See my How to Make an Appointment page.
I’m really enjoying working with college students, of all ages and backgrounds, and I respect CSUEB’s commitment to education. With the current environment, budgetary limits are a harsh reality and put more burden on the students. Most of our students will graduate with debt into an uncertain job market.
The little boys you’ll see in an earlier blog post are now in higher education themselves – one is in his first year of law school, and the other is finishing up his sophomore year at UC Davis. The rate of passing time, as a parent, continues to be surreal.
Not making any promises, but I did enjoy blogging and probably have a few topics I could write about, so stay tuned.
